Luncheon N. 8 – Autumn Winter 2019-20

Luncheon N. 8 brings Playing with Colour, a creative collaboration between Alexis Taylor and John Booth captured by Rollo Jackson, and continues with a feature on Nam June Paik’s Tate exhibition by curators Sook-Kyung Lee and Valentina Ravaglia. Chef Jeremy Lee pens a tribute to writer and cook Eliza Acton, while artist Issy Wood speaks with curator Sarah McCrory. Menswear designer Martine Rose shares her personal inspirations, and gallerist Sadie Coles is in conversation with Charlie Porter, with portraits by Ola Rindal. Designer Gareth Casey is featured in his garden in France, and a conversation between musician Robert Wyatt and artist Alfie Benge with Martin Clark is paired with photographs by Kuba Ryniewicz. The issue also celebrates 20 years of Fashion East with Lulu Kennedy in conversation with Charlie Porter, photographed by Joyce Ng and styled by Brian Molloy, starring Rainbow Kennedy. Further highlights include a feature on artist Steven Campbell by Carol Campbell, Beca Lipscombe, and Mairi MacKenzie; the essay Fantasies of Adornment by Kareem Reid; and reflections on Naum Gabo at Tate St Ives by Charlie Porter. An essay by Germano Celant explores the legacy of artist and Surrealism collector William N. Copley with a portfolio of paintings. The issue concludes with a lunch shared by Fergus and Margot Henderson, photographed by Annie Collinge.
